The IFLA World Council will take place in Nantes, France 8th, 9th and 10th September 2025
World Council Times

The IFLA World Council will take place immediately prior to the IFLA World Congress , the World Congress opening ceremony will take place immediately after the end of the world council - ie PM on Wednesday 10th September.

Attendees for the World Council must register for this event independently from the World Congress. Registration is now open.
Official Delegates to IFLA should register via the form here or if you are not able to send an official delegate please use the form to assign a proxy representative.
Observers should register via the form here.
The forms will close Friday 8th August 2025 after that point you will not be able to register for the World Council.

Logistics and Accommodation in Nantes
The congress organisers have have secured a number of hotel rooms at various hotels with negotiated rates.
We encourage you to book as early as possible for a wider choice of hotels.

IFLA will hold an online World Council meeting in March 2025. This will be in addition to the in-person World Council Meeting in Nantes in September 2025.
Delegates and observers will be welcome to join us online for 2 hours on Saturday 22nd March and a further 2 hours on Sunday 23rd March.

IFLA will be hosting Pre-World Council Virtual Session for any of our members to attend - this will explain the agenda, how the council and voting will work and be an opportunity to ask any questions about how the 2 days will work.

The IFLA World Council will take place in Nairobi on the 26th and 27th September. There will be a video link to the venue in Stockholm and some opportunity for people to join us online also.
